A sneak-peek behind attorney Matt Palentchar

Matt Palentchar
Although mostly focused on his decade-long career as an attorney, Matt Palentchar is more than real estate transactions, commercial and residential closings, property law and estate planning. This owner of MGP Law & Title in St. Petersburg, Florida -- where he also practices -- saves ample time away from the office to enjoy his life with wife Heather. He’s especially grateful for such time under the sunny Floridian skies after battling and beating a life-threatening illness not long ago; one that jeopardized his health and his career, causing him to relocate back to his native New Jersey and start over recently in Florida as he opened MGP Law & Title in 2016 once back and better than ever.

Today, a healthier and happier Matthew Palentchar dedicates extra time away from work to serving for CASA as a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litum for disadvantaged children. Additionally, he is an avid sports fan, enjoying live games as well as those on television, but happy to play various sports as well -- from baseball to football to basketball. He even admits to being an NFL Cleveland Browns fan. Palentchar runs multiple times per week and enjoys the advantages of a life in Florida with his wife, including parks and the nearby beaches. The couple have become Harry Potter fans in recent years, even naming their two dogs Gryffindor and Sirius after the popular films.

A Profile of Florida Attorney Matt Palentchar

Matt Palentchar
After he graduated high school, Matt Palentchar went on to Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in political science. Then, he earned a scholarship to attend the law school at Ohio Northern University, where he earned his Juris Doctor and headed straight to Florida. Matt’s legal career began with a stint at a general practice law firm in Naples, Florida, where he practiced in all kinds of areas. He didn’t like being a jack-of-all-trades, though, and the law firm grind was not to his liking, so he formed Matthew G. Palentchar, Esq., P.A. a year later, and ran that until 2010, when a life threatening illness caused him to leave Florida for a while.

Luckily for his clients, Matt Palentchar is tough, so he was soon healthy again. That’s when he returned to Florida, more focused and feeling better than ever, and forming Matthew G. Palentchar, PLLC in St. Petersburg, Florida. Matt Palentchar’s primary specialty has always been real estate. That said, he also like to practice in the areas of corporate transactions, probate, simple estate planning, and small business law. He has come a long way since growing up in Colonia, New Jersey, and playing tons of sports. Matt was interested in all sorts of sports back then; he played football, baseball, basketball, and soccer, among others.

He still resides there with his wife Heather and their two dogs. Over time, Matt has developed a new appreciation for what he has, so besides being a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, Matt Palentchar spends a lot of his free time volunteering for CASA as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litum for disadvantaged children.

Looking Back at the Law Career of Matthew Palentchar

Matt Palentchar
After he officially began his career as a Florida attorney, Matthew Palentchar started with a general practice firm in Naples, where he practiced in many different legal areas. That frustrated him enough to form Matthew G. Palentchar, Esq., P.A., in 2005 and operated that firm for five years. That was when he began to develop his specialty, in real estate law. Unfortunately, in 2010, Matt was hit with a life-threatening illness. Those caused him to leave Florida for a while.

Thankfully, Matt Palentchar is very tough and he was soon back in Florida, this time to St. Petersburg, where he formed Matthew G. Palentchar, PLLC. In better health than ever and more determined to be great, he formed Matthew G. Palentchar, PLLC in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he continues to focus almost exclusively on real estate and complex corporate transactions. He also does the more ordinary work, like title searches and title exams and the like, as necessary. And if a client needs it, he will also handle estate planning and probate issues, among other legal issues because he can. In addition to being a member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association, Matt Palentchar likes to spend his free time volunteering for CASA, where he is a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litum for disadvantaged children.

A Profile of Florida Attorney Matthew Palentchar

Matt Palentchar
Since he passed the bar exam in 2004, Matt Palentchar’s law career has been very substantial and seemingly varied, although he prefers to practice in Florida real estate law. He started with a general practice law firm in Naples, Florida, where he practiced in many areas, including real estate, estate planning, civil, criminal and business law. However, he soon went off on his own, running Matthew G. Palentchar, Esq., P.A. until about 2010, when personal issues and a potentially deadly caused him to leave Florida for a time.

Matt Palentchar is tough, however. He worked through everything and soon overcame those personal problems and his illness and return to Florida feeling more focused on his legal career. He formed Matthew G. Palentchar, PLLC in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he now lives with his wife Heather and their two dogs. The current firm is far more specifically focused on real estate transactions and property law. That means he has developed a reputation for giving lenders, purchasers and sellers in complex commercial transactions. He can handle any task, though, and he would like to do so for almost anyone in the St. Petersburg area.

Matthew Palentchar Can Deal With Your Real Estate Issues

It took a long time for Matthew Palentchar to get where he is now in the legal profession. After growing up in Colonia, New Jersey and graduating high school, Matt earned a Bachelor’s Degree in political science from Rutgers University. While there, he earned a scholarship to attend law school at Ohio Northern University, which is where he earned his Juris Doctor, or law degree. Of course, as soon as Matt Palentchar had his J.D., he headed straight for Florida, passed the state bar exam and started what is now a great legal career that has stretched to well over a decade so far. Real Estate Attorney From Colonia Thrives in Saint Petersburg

Matthew Palentchar
Matt Palentchar began practicing law in Florida in 2004. It started in Fort Myers, Florida. He has been involved in general practice law with a special emphasis on real estate as well as corporate transactions, small business law, probate, and simple estate planning. After working at a law firm in Naples, Florida, that he simply did not enjoy, he decided to quit the corporate grind of the large law firm. Instead, he started his own firm, becoming President of Matthew G. Palentchar, Esq., P.A. from 2005 until 2010. A life threatening illness and a number of personal issues caused Matthew Palentchar to put his career on hold and leave Florida in 2010.

Today, though, Matt Palentchar has returned to Florida more focused and better at his job. He has narrowed his focus to real estate transactions and property law, though obviously he has other areas of interest that he can practice in. Over the course of his ten years practicing law in Florida, he has been able to represent lenders, sellers, and purchasers. This includes working on complex commercial real estate transactions and simple resident real estate transactions by the hundreds. Palentchar is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and has even volunteered his time for CASA as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litum for disadvantaged children in the area.

The Legal Journey of Matt Palentchar

Matthew Palentchar
When Matthew Palentchar was growing up in Colonia, NJ and playing sports, it’s likely that he didn’t envision himself as a prominent Florida lawyer, but there he is. He now has more than a dozen years’ experience in the law. Matt’s current firm features a far more specific focus on real estate transactions and property law than his other legal practice exploits in the past. Over the course of a dozen years, he has ably represented hundreds of lenders, purchasers and sellers in complex commercial transactions.

That said, however, Matt Palentchar doesn’t pawn off his other duties on others. He continues to do the smaller, more run-of-the-mill real estate work that is a critical part of the process. That means he performs tasks such as title searches, title exams, and issuing title insurance for residential and commercial closings and he can do it all better than most other attorneys, which gives him an edge. Matt Palentchar is still a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, and he spends what little personal time he has as a volunteer for CASA, where he serves as a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litum for disadvantaged children.
